Communities First in Carmarthenshire Cymraeg
Communities First is the Welsh Assembly Government’s flagship programme to improve the living conditions and prospects for people in the most disadvantaged communities across Wales. The programme was launched in 2001 and was conceived as a long-term strategy to address the deep-rooted social and economic problems of those communities.
Each Communities First area has its own Partnership, which is made up of statutory, voluntary and business organisations from the local area.
Carmarthenshire has six Communities First Partnerships covering its seven Communities First areas. The Partnerships are:
- Glanymor & Tyisha (in Llanelli)
- Bigyn 4 (in Llanelli)
- Felinfoel (in Llanelli)
- Llwynhendy (in Llanelli)
- Pantyffynnon (in Ammanford)
- Upper Amman Valley (a Carmarthenshire/Neath Port Talbot cross-border partnership made up of Cwmgors, Lower and Upper Brynaman, Gwaen Cae Gurwen, Rhosamman, Cefnbrynbrain and Ystradowen.)
