Seaside Family Forum Make a Clean Start to 2009
Local residents, parents and children joined together yesterday to help make their community a better place through a litter pick with Keep Wales Tidy.
The Seaside Family Forum, with support from Dan Snaith of Keep Wales Tidy and Communities First Glanymor & Tyisha organised the litter pick/clean up to help combat littering in their community.
Despite the cold January weather, a good turnout showed face to get their hands dirty and clean up the community. The event also gave an opportunity for local residents to express their thoughts and concerns to Keep Wales Tidy about littering and fly-tipping in the local area.
The cleanup began on Copperworks Road and finished in Crown Park, Seaside. Over 6 full bags of rubbish were filled with the efforts of the group, as well as four car tires being removed from the park.
A number of litter picks and cleanup have been organised across Llanelli by Keep Wales Tidy over the coming weeks, and it’s a great way to get involved with your local community and the places you live, so keep your eyes open for the next one and join in!

The Tidy Towns project is an excellent idea and I hope that communities will keep working to leave their streets, green areas and childre's play areas clean and tidy. Members of the Seaside Family Forum were proud to be part of this project.
